September 2018 – Volkswagen launches a promotional campaign called “Electric for All”. Using the new modular electric drive matrix (MEB) platform, Volkswagen plans 27 MEB models across four different brands by the end of 2022.
May 2018 – Volkswagen says the I.D. concept will make it to production in November 2019 with sales starting early in 2020. The electric hatchback won’t make it to the USA, but a production version of the I.D. Crozz will arrive in North America in 2020. In addition, the I.D. Buzz and I.D. Vizzion will follow.
