The 2019 Kia Niro EV has a 64 kWh battery pack, and has received a WLTP electric range rating of 301 miles.
For comparison, the cousin vehicle, the Hyundai Kona Electric, was first rated at 292 miles, and that was later increased to 300 miles on the same test cycle.
The Kia Niro EV is expected to be available in early 2019.
Kia e-Niro Battery and Charging
The e-Niro has a 64 kWh battery pack with a motor that provides maximum power of 201 hp, or 150 kW.
Charging with a level 2 evse and the on-board 7.2 kW charger, the battery can be fully charged in around 10.5 hours. Using a standard household outlet, charge time on the Niro EV is around 32 hours.
Through a CCS quick charger, with a maximum charge rate of 80 kW, the e-Niro can recharge from 10% to 80% in approximately 45 minutes, and should provide about 165 miles of range.
