Chevrolet Bolt EV Wheels and Tires
The Chevrolet Bolt EV uses a bolt pattern of 5x105mm. That means there are 5 bolts per wheel, and the center of the bolts are equally spaced around a circle with a diameter of 105mm.
The 5x105mm bolt pattern is fairly unique. Here are a list of vehicles with the same bolt pattern Sourc: 5×105 Wheel Size
- Buick Encore
- Buick Verano
- Chevrolet Aveo
- Chevrolet Cavalier
- Chevrolet Cruze
- Chevrolet Sonic
- Chevrolet Tracker
- Chevrolet Trax
- Chevrolet Volt
- Holden, Opel, and Vauxhall may also have vehicles with the same pattern.
Wheel adapters are available that will allow you to use a 5×114.3mm wheel on the Bolt EV hubs. However, these spacers are usually 1″ thick so they will either make your tires stick out that much further, or the new wheels being used will need to have 1″ less of backspacing.
Stock wheel and tire sizes
The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV ships with 17 inch aluminum wheels in a few different designs.
The OEM tires are Michelin Energy Saver A/S 215/50R17 all-season tires that have an inner layer of self-healing gooey substance that makes the tires resistant to small punctures from nails and other road hazards.
Performance Upgrades
SharkVolt did a 0-60mph comparison test with his Bolt Ev using the stock rims and tires, and a set of 16″ x 6.5″ Chevrolet Cruze OEM wheels with Bridgestone Potenza RE71 205/45 series tires. After several runs averaged, the Cruze rims and tires were approximately 0.25 seconds faster than the stock wheels and tires. Autocrossing the Bolt EV

Should be:
105 mm is the diameter of the bolt circle on which the lug nuts reside.
Good catch, thanks! Article updated
Actually, according to a lug bolt diagram I’ve seen, the measurement for a 5 lug bolt wheel is from the center of one bolt hole to the outside edge of the bolt hole on one of the 2 lugs opposite. Slightly different from a 4 or 6 hole wheel.
